By way of introduction I am a late (ever later) 20 something, gothique - like, over opinionated, liberal voting, chthonic, libertine female from west middle land shire. Actually, I don’t sound anything like that at all, thank goodness.
I am beginning to fit far too well the terribly Victorian image of the domesticated aging spinster that I have mocked will be my future, but whilst the desires of my earlier ages might be more tempered the distractions still provide enough of a temptation to ensure the truth is not quite as clear cut.
I have been known to run from a whhheeeeeeee bit hyper bouncy pigtail wearing manic all the way through to isolated darkness laced in utter desperation with kennels worth of black dogs, with added varieties of fluff, nonsense and pain and the correct way to make tea in the midst of everything else, but the gloves, hat and shoes all match regardless.
I am most likely to answer to the name Prudence, or Pru for short, and as most people don’t try to pronounce Prosperine, Goddess will suffice.
I have been told that the tales behind these walls ranges now from “slightly duller than your posts of yester insane years” to “amusing yet psychotic”. It is merely, as ever, a refection of where I am and what I am doing in the present, for I have always seen LJ as window of life as it currently is. The preserving functions are for my benefit and amusement not as a means by which others may secretly unearth my pasts, if you care to know; ask.
This LJ is for the most part friends only; my issues with life, love, laughter and loot having little bearing on anyone out side the scope of my radar. This tends to fluxuate as I weigh it up on the scales between the desire for privacy and my general policy of blanket honesty. This equally causes entries to pop up in the past or disappear as I re-evaluate in current climates.
I do not post heavy intellectual prose or discussions of the latest actions of the Governmental offices. This is not the place for such public self gratifications.
Most of the entries are behind cuts (I am a great believer in the politeness of the lj-cut) and there’s usually a clue as to what is behind them, but frankly if you are on the inside of these virtual walls you will already know what I do and what I write about in one form or another. I have set up several filters as I have no desire to bore the uninterested nor over inform the casually acquainted, these operate on an opt in basis. The better slightly angst ridden poetry, occassional ramblings of would be clarity and other random creations are mostly public, however due to issues in the past that I do not wish to repeat only those with an lj account can reply to a public entry (see below).
I run a fairly open policy, if i know you and you want in say so at the post on the front page of the journal. Please note, this is my journal, this is not a democracy you do not get a voice or a right to reply unless I deem it so. My journal, my rules.
I have swathes of time and compassion for the people I care about, but I will not air my dirty laundry in public, no matter who you are. Please leave your personal Drama's at the door; you can collect them on your way out.

Beneath the soil spring stirs; soft rain and sunlight bringing warmth to strip the ice away. Summers caress is promised on the breeze that echoes in chthonic chambers, where those that sleep now awake.
About me:
I wear a variety of styles and cuts to my cloth, mostly with a touch of the dramatic. I adore bustles and bodices and brocade along side seamed stockings and hourglass silhouettes, lace and silk next to buckles and burlesque. I am slowly building several ‘style wardrobes’ along side each other and always seem to find room for yet another one. I have an overwhelming leaning towards the Victorian, both in clothing and lifestyle but occasionally I stray and get swept away by the promise of other temptations.
I love hats and gloves and anything that makes my outfits sparkle and these are slowly taking over any spare space they can find in my room. I seem to have also managed to acquire a nice collection of coats over the years and these are scattered to the four winds of anywhere that can house them including a spare wardrobe in the loft. I have a not so secret love affair with foot wear, I have no idea how many pairs I have as again these are collated in several sources, however its not uncommon for me to have a weak moment and suddenly realise I am now four pairs of boots better off than I was at the start of my lunch hour.
I read in my spare time and if I am pushed to (as one often is) I would say my favourite book is Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. I am currently trying to get out of my comfort zone and so have been reading (not always with the most success) science fiction novels. I also managed to read the last Harry Potter novel (as in the final, thank god …. is that it?! novel) in two days which made for a week of interesting dreams. The only book I would ever willing burn, with glee and joy is The Di Vinci Code (I cannot believe people paid money for that pile of excrement).
I am also putting up a lot of my newly played with recipes as I struggle to avoid eating what the hospital have told me is bad for me, there are only so many times you can look at the words gluten free and dairy free and not despair! I am attempting to make jam that would make even the WI proud, but so far have failed to get close, I have made a few rather interesting chutneys however. The battle with gluten free flours and dairy free butters goes on, but I am rediscovering the joys of baking with real ingredients (so long as I remember not to lick the bowl!).
I listen to all sorts of random pieces of music and different bands and genres. Puccini’s Butterfly makes me cry; big solid brass band pieces makes me smile and remember; lots of bands I never know the name of on kerrange make me sing out loudly whilst I drive; I sing along badly to the disco tunes and mo town classics of my parents; I dance away in dark 80’s inspired clubs to the sounds of my youth; I thrown myself about to heavy drums and washing machines going full pelt; Beethoven lulls me to sleep; and if I don’t pay attention I catch myself whistling Peter and the Wolf (Peter’s tune, in case your interested)
Oh! and I am Queen of typonese - its a cross of dyslexia (fairly mild, I did the extra lessons and spent years simply thudding words in to my brain - and is mostly combated by using a different word to the one I cant remember how to spell) and I have this thing where when I start to get tired it gets worse so I say dog and mean man or get the letters the wrong way round. I spell check the huge entries but it’s my LJ and i'll miss spell if I want to!
