... Who do girls like they're boys, Always should be someone you really love."

Gosh, I have been rather remiss in updating this!

That would suggest that nothing has been happening; but it would be quite a lie! Life has been terribly busy and overwhelmingly happy of late which in part has contributed to the lack of available on line time generally. But there is no time to reminisce here and now...

...its almost Whitby!!!

The Official State Timetable as approved by the Ministry of Justice:

I shall be heading up on Thursday (in a car yet to be determined) with my delightful chap. This should be, subject to his flustering and general faffing and a leisurely amble on the Mwhatever, be late afternoonish.

The evening entertainments shall (via a nifty half in the elysie to rally the troops) be provided by Mr Hamster and his Decks of Wow! At DV80’s vs Deviation over at the shambles! (free entry! All the cheese you can <strike> eat </strike> listen to).

Friday is as yet an undetermined quantity. There will be a little ambling about potentially even promenading followed by candy fluff and penny arcades but I am happily swayable to better and alternative offers. There are mutterings of some stuff in the evening which may form a slightly more coherent pla… as time draws closer.

Saturday daytime will be spent shopping for suitable treats and making paper chain bats and other orange and black paraphernalia! Whilst Richard runs about and collects yet another happy body to join our (growing nicely) commune! If anyone does want to exchange treats for tricks then by all means do come a knocking! *wink*. Only people in suitable attire will be suitably considered!! Its Hallowweeeeeeeen.. its silly costume day! It is in fact a Law. Statutory protected! I should know right…. And would I lie to you?

In the evening myself and my epically stupid and homemade Halloween costume and Richard and his (hopefully made by then) costume shall be watching the dear, great, dead and good at the Cabaret Macabre . I am not sure what time it kicks out but I understand there are DJ’s and its only £10 a ticket!!! Worth it in anyone’s money!

Sunday morning will be day of epic breakfast I suspect; either in flat or more likely in some suitable place (by which I mean not java who do nothing that tempts me) followed by a bellowing at the <insert rue="rue" word="word"> in the black! As Real Gothic once again take on the might of the Whitby Gazette at home (there never seems to be an away game). It is still missing the Bovril!

As if we couldn’t guess Sunday afternoon (cause lets face it 5 pm is not quite evening!) is dedicated to <strike> Hamsters No2 </strike> Laughtons!! . I do hope you all have your singing vice for the queue! Yet more of the silly costumes should (hopefully) be on show…if I can get mine finished! If anyone wants to copy my theme by all mans do ask, but asking does create a binding non breakable or I will own your soul contract to join in! Suitable worship shall offered at the feet of Mr Hamster who is making his Whitby Laughtons Début (I expect great things!).

Monday is going to be chooo chooo day! as we while away the hours on the steam railway. Stopping off to look at pretty things and have a spot of packed lunch before ambling flatwards for a change into suitable attire to brave the bitter dark of the autumnal Whitby sea front. Whilst staying to see the dawn again is always temoting at these things, suddenly for some reason this year I rather think I shall be heading flatwards a little earlier than that….*cough*.

Tuesday is cleaning the flat and trying to work out where on earth I left my other shoe when I disrobed after a couple of vodkas too many on Sunday day. Followed by the reverse drive down the Mwhatever back to a warm house, a long hot bath and a probably (by that point) moody cat.

I see Burton has a new film out...

well.. when I say out I mean that he has begun the MASS HYPE TWO YEAR BUILD UP that seems to accompany these things!

I like Burton's stuff well enough. Its cute to look at and its not going to make me think too hard. However, I am getting VERY bored of the same damn story with the same damn people in slightly different costumes.

On a more specific note Mr B has clearly not read AiW... or maybe he did .. when he was drunk.. once.. a long time ago.. and has forgotten that the Tweedles, The Jabberwocky and the White Queen are NOT IN THE DAMN BOOK!

He's also missing most of what makes the book the work of nonsense art that it is.

I adore Alice, I really do; the book is complex clever piece of writing over laid with a wonderful whimsical story with lashes of gentle morality - everything a good Victorian children story should be.

I will I am sure go and see it and I will like it for what I like about Burton, but I do wonder when the one trick ceases to be magic.

Dear Whitby,

I am bored now. I now care even less (if that is possible) about the spa and other events of that ilk. The dirty laundry is starting to smell.

Whitby is not about the over priced tickets that allow you to queue in the cold for hours to see shite bands you can see anywhere else for a fiver whilst getting mugged for a cheap weak vodka that is served to you in a way that makes you feel like you should be grateful.

I love wearing stupid big (and occasionally inappropriate) outfits but frankly I will wear them in the damn street if I have to. I love seeing all the people I love for which Len charges £3.10 (and a smile) for the price of a drinkie. I love being beside the damn sea side with a bloody big impromptu fire whilst I slowly talk more and more rubbish.

I plan to be going in Halloween.

Yours yawningly

Prudence.
xXx

Its a rather old one (grumble) but as ever the years are only in my mind (and my bones!)...as such Wendy House have been good enough to ensure there is a suitable celebratory Bendy Party JUST FOR ME!! (isnt that nice of them)...

Your attendance is required!!

WHERE: Wendy House (some where in Leeds, which is up North)

WHEN: 17th January 2009

WEARING: the theme is going to be "what did you want to be when you grew up!" (not the proper adult idea... the one you had when you were really young!!!)

so dig out your bob the builder play sets (I know you have one), dust off those fairy wings (Ive seen of you in those at Whitby!) and come and shake your tommahawks!

Did you all enjoy your leap second?

There was a Christmas, which was nice enough. There have been days that I have done nothing with, which has been a welcome respite. There has been company over new year, which has been pleasent.

There could be more but its a touch late on to really write yet another This Is What My Family Did post. It was very much the way 2008 has been; some of it was good, some of it was not good, a touch of it was too dark, and there were a couple of moments of brightness. 2008 was always going to be a year of waiting, a year of 'lets see', a year of other people's choices.

Welcome to 2009, its promises to be an interesting ride what ever way I sit!

...What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more."

I have heard Carols from Kings. It is officially Christmas Time!

prezzies are all wrapped (albeit a bit poorly this year), songs have been sung (most heartily), candles have been lit for those that have gone, I have also lit the rest in my room (I could do with a bit of the light right now) and I even have a (small) glass of port. I now am going to get my knitting and watch moulin rouge (and not wonder what happened.... )

Have a great day one and all!

Love Pru
xxx
