[run ad]

[Bring on the trumpets!]

Are you longing for a different time, a better place, a different world?...

then come to Jane Austen's World of Good Manners and Jolly Good (but appropriate fun)

Take a trap ride with the Bennetts and see if you dare contradict Miss Elizabeth

Dance with the Dashwoods in the Norland Park Ball Room

Be terrified in the Northanger Abbey Haunted House

and if your very daring, ride the Mr Darcy Log Flume!

Jane Austen World.... Because Society was not always this common

***New attractions coming soon***

The Emma Woodhouse Introductions service:

Are you almost approaching 27 and destined for spinster hood? Fear not yet, for here at the EWIS we have plenty of persuasion at our disposal to aid you in your almost impossible quest!

Are you a young man in possession of a fortune? Then let EWIS help procure you a good wife.

I think the EWIS definitely has possibilities! (I also need to spend less time sharing my brain cells with Mr S!)

Nuffield House is up for sale. £2.75 million. Reckon Jane Austen World would be a valid justification for purchasing it? I expect a more palatial and established manor would be closer to the ideal, however.

oh, now that would indeed be a delightful abode! I think the Manor would be good for the park and Nuffield for me!

According to the paperwork, I apparently still have a wife. Would EWIS therefore be able to assist me in the procurement of a fortune?

are you A) A Young Man and b) was she a good wife - the terms of engagement for services are quite specific.

Hmmm. Well, most of me feels young... and it could be argued that she was a good wife, though perhaps not of the type I ultimately desired. She would most certainly suit a man of the countryside, with a hearty appetite and a need for A Wife.

Hmm, you may need a medical to ascertain which parts feel young. If there are enough of them - it is possible EWIS will take you on its books.
Hmm, more of a potential Mrs Colins then?

I shall book an appropriate medical at EWIS' earliest convenience; if only to satisfy myself that my own perception is not skewed. There's nothing quite as ungraceful as aging without having noticed it; one should wear one's maturity with dignity and humility.

(That's what that pose is. It is not a bad back).

I suspect that would interest her very much, though a naïve approach to estate management would not impress her.

Hilariously, the post directly after this on my FList is titled "Worst Themepark EVER!".
I am daring, and would like to try the Darcy Flume...or perhaps just be the towel-fluffer for it.

I sadly have no fortune. I have however been known to be somewhat windswept in Yorkshire. Does that count?
